Cascara - El Salvador Finca Buenos Aires - 4oz
Cascara is dried coffee fruit, which can be brewed up as a tea, and has a sweet, fruity character. It is often treated as a by-product of coffee production. Some coffee farmers, however, have seen the potential of this “waste” item. By processing it with the same care and attention to quality they give to coffee, they have created something wonderful and new.
We love cascara as a hot tea, but you can also experiment and use it in cocktails, summer drinks (think cascara lemonade), sparkling sodas, infused ciders, or any other creative libations you can think up.
To brew at home:
To brew as tea, we recommend 18g cascara for every 250 ml of hot (200F) water. Steep for 4 minutes, strain & enjoy!
