Back for another season, we are so excited to have this coffee back at the roastery. A synthesis of delicacy, intense aroma and sweetness, this is a very special cup.

Geisha (or Gesha) is a botanical variety only recently brought from Ethiopia to Latin America. It was originally planted in Colombia as part of a multi-year project to improve quality and increase botanical varieties in the country. The variety has now become one of the most distinguished and unique coffees of the world. Growing the Geisha variety is not an easy feat, it tends to grow where it wants and how it wants, and typically only thrives in high-altitude microclimates. This is why we are so grateful for Mr. Guerrero who has been able to grow this beautiful variety on his El Obraje farm.

Mr. Guerrero was the first to introduce coffee to the Tangua area outside of the city of Pasto in Colombia's Nariño department. The area was known for its wheat and bean production, but as businesses started to falter Mr. Guerrero saw an opportunity to explore coffee. Originally, his farm was an apple orchard, and he was unsure how coffee would do in high altitudes. But, the coffee flourished.  Mr. Guerrero's background in architecture leads him to approach coffee from both passionate and pragmatic angles, applying planting and processing strategies designed for long-term farm health.

Mr. Pablo Guerrero's version of the Geisha coffee exhibits citrus and floral notes, paired with a black tea finish.

We hope you sit back and take the time to sip and enjoy this beautiful and delightfully unique coffee!
