Tasting Notes: Hot fudge, tangerine, almond praline.
In the Cup
This coffee is a beautiful representation of what a classic cup of coffee from the Nariño region can taste like. It shines as a drip, with lots of sweetness hitting your palate initially - think dark chocolate or hot fudge. A full molasses-like body gives it a weighty, satisfying mouthfeel. As you continue sipping, notes of fresh tangerine add a touch of bright, low-key acidity that complements rather than overpowers. The finish is rounded out by almond praline, adding a warm, nutty sweetness. It's a cup that feels both indulgent and balanced - comforting yet complex in all the right ways.
Origin & Processing
This coffee comes to us from Brayan Meneses of Finca Santa Ana of the famed Nariño region of Colombia. At 33 years of age, Brayan represents a new generation of coffee growers. He learned everything he knows about coffee from his grandfather and has fond memories of working in the coffee fields after school.
In addition to his hands-on coffee education, Brayan studied as a computer technician and hopes to pursue a degree in agronomy. With this knowledge, he brings a fresh perspective to coffee production, shifting from traditional methods to specialty coffee about four years ago. His dedication to quality is paying off - he has placed in the top 10 in multiple regional growing competitions.
This washed-process coffee is sun-dried at 1,960 meters, where the high elevation and meticulous processing result in an exceptionally clean and flavorful cup. We're thrilled to share Brayan's work with you!
