Origin
Coffee has been grown in Peru since the 18th century, but in recent decades the country has emerged as a standout origin for high-quality, ethically produced coffee. Grown primarily by small-scale farmers in regions such as Cajamarca, Cusco, San Martín, and Junín, Peruvian coffees are known for their bright yet approachable acidity, smooth body, and flavor profiles that often range from citrus and floral to cocoa and caramel.
Peru is also one of the world’s leading exporters of organic coffee, with many farms relying on traditional, low-input agricultural practices well suited to the country’s mountainous terrain. This commitment to sustainability, paired with diverse microclimates and high elevations, results in coffees that are both expressive in the cup and deeply rooted in environmental stewardship.
Producer & Processing
This coffee represents the work of Peru’s smallholder farming community, where many producers are members of cooperatives focused on sustainability, fair trade, and community empowerment. These cooperatives provide farmers with access to resources, shared infrastructure, and stable market opportunities, while reinvesting premiums into education, healthcare, and farm improvements.
After harvest, it is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, a chemical-free method that preserves flavor integrity resulting in a decaf coffee that tastes true to its origin.
