Tasting Notes: Nectarine, Currant, Milk Chocolate.

In the Cup
In classic Kenya style, this is a bright, fruit-forward coffee. Tart nectarine and red currant notes yield to juicy plum as the cup cools. The cup is balanced with milk chocolate-like caramelization. This coffee is perfect for a pour over on a slightly finer grind.
Origin
We met Stephen Nendela by chance in 2024, when he handed us a non-descript bag of green coffee and asked us to give it a try. We get a lot of unsolicited samples, most of which are a disappointment. We tossed this one in the sample roaster, though, and were pleasantly surprised by what emerged. A bright, fruity, clean cup that reminded us of some of the best Kenyas we've roasted in years past.
The quality of Stephen's coffee was doubly surprising given the part of Kenya where Muinami Estate is situated. In Kenya's Western Rift Valley, the farms that Stephen manages and the neighbors that he processes coffee for are closer to the Mt. Elgon growing region in Uganda than the better-known Kenyan coffee areas that sit below the slopes of Mt. Kenya. This is the first coffee that we've purchased from this part of the country and we're excited to share it with you all!

Perfect morning coffee. Waited a long time for the Kenya beans to return to the Brio menu!
Really great.
KME is great!
We’ve been trying most of Brio’s single origins for about 2 years now, and this immediately became one of our favorites
