Decaf Nicaragua - 12 oz.
Tasting notes: Dark chocolate, Gala apple, honey
We are excited to offer our first decaffeinated coffee from Nicaragua's Jinotega region. We are always on the quest to find the most delicious coffees for our decaf drinkers, and we know you'll love this one.
In the Cup
On the cupping table, it stood out for its sweetness. In the cup, you'll find notes of dark chocolate with mild malic acidity, like a Gala Apple. As with all of our decafs, this coffee was decaffeinated using the chemical-free Mountain Water Process.
Origin and Processing
This coffee is grown by family-owned small farms organized around Cooperativa Multifuncional Family Coffee R.L. (COMULFAC), a cooperative founded in 2013. Farmers cultivate coffee on farms that average 4 to 100 acres in size and they use their own micro-mill to process harvested cherries, which allows for meticulous care in depulping, fermenting, and drying the coffee. The idea behind establishing a cooperative model of COMULFAC was to help the farmers organize their efforts and combine their resources to develop social projects aimed at improving the quality of life in their communities
